10 Great Christmas Movies - 1 DVD
Just how much of a Christmas movie fan are you? If you are into Christmas movies as much as I am, then you will just love this DVD set. It is the Holiday Romance Collection Movie 10 Pack. Now, to tell the truth, I'm not really the biggest fan of romance movies (and in my life have never read a "romance" novel), but these are Christmas movies - and so a little romance just comes with the territory.
This is a terrific collection, and some of my all time favorites are included. For me, 'Moonlight & Mistletoe', 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year', and 'Single Santa Seeks Mrs Claus' make this DVD collection worth the price alone - and so the other seven are just icing on the cake!
These are the 10 movies included in the set. They are not listed in any particular order: And, the fact that my three favorites are listed first is really just a coincidence...
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (2008) - The overwhelming tasks that go along with Christmas have taken the joy out of the holidays for busy single mom Jennifer Cullen. Then her Uncle Ralph arrives at her home with the young, handsome Morgan Derby. Morgan's love of Christmas is contagious and as Jennifer glumly navigates through the holidays, she soon realizes that what she needs most is right under her nose. Stars Henry Winkler, Brooke Burns and Warren Christie.
Moonlight & Mistletoe (2008) - It's always Christmas in Santaville! But now, tiny Chester, Vermont's year-round yuletide attraction is losing its widespread appeal. On the verge of bankruptcy, the resident St. Nick is hoping for a Christmas miracle to keep his dream from being bulldozed into another mini mall. Starring Candace Cameron Bure and Tom Arnold.
Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus (2004) - Nick's plan to let fate bring his wife to him must be altered because he must replace his father as Santa Claus on December 26. Ernst, the right-hand man to several generations of Santas, creates a list of potential mates. Nick dutifully sets off to meet them, but fate may have a candidate after all. Starring Steven Guttenberg and Crystal Bernard.
A Boyfriend for Christmas (2004) - Holly Grant is a child advocate who learned a long time ago not to rely on Santa Claus to leave Mr. Right in her Christmas stocking. She made a wish 20 years before, but it never came true. However, hard-working Holly is in for a surprise when a handsome man arrives on her doorstep with a twinkle in his eye and a Yuletide tree in tow. Starring Kelli Williams, Patrick Muldoon, & Charles Durning.
A Carol Christmas (2003) - An egomaniacal TV talk show host is given a chance for redemption in this modern day take on Charles Dicken's classic novel A Christmas Carol. Stars Tori Spelling, William Shatner, Gary Coleman, Dinah Manoff, Nina Siemaszko.
A Christmas Kiss (2011) - After a spontaneous kiss, a struggling designer ends up falling in love with her demanding boss's boyfriend as she decorates his home for a Christmas party. Starring Elisabeth Rohm, Laura Breckenridge, Brendan Fehr
Holiday Engagement (2011) - Afraid to admit she was just dumped, a woman hires an actor to play her lawyer-boyfriend during a 4 day Thanksgiving weekend at her parents house. Starring Bonnie Somerville, Jordan Bridges and Shelley Long
Mrs. Santa Claus (1996) - Neglected by her husband during the pre-Christmas rush, Mrs. Claus takes the reindeer and sleigh out for a drive, only to end up stranded in the multicultural neighborhood of Manhattan's Lower East Side of the early 1900s. Starring Angela Lansbury, Michael Jeter, Terrence Mann
An Old Fashioned Christmas (2010) - The story of An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving, based on a short story by American novelist Louisa May Alcott, continues with An Old-Fashioned Christmas. Isabella and Tilly pay a visit to Ireland, hoping Isabella's long-ago suitor, the Earl of Shannon, can assist Tilly in getting her writing published. Starring Jacqueline Bisset & Catherine Steadman.
Three Wise Women (2010) - Liz is a successful, thirty-something doctor who doesn't fully realize she is settling for less than ideal with the man she is about to marry. Her guardian angel travels through time and enlists the help of Liz as both a late teenager and an older woman to steer her clear from making this mistake. Stars Fionnula Flanagan, Amy Huberman, Hugh O'Connor, Lauren Coe & John Rhys Davies.
If you like Christmas movies, these are all really good family entertainment. And if you're at all like me, then that also means that you probably have the ever-expanding collection of Christmas DVD's. If so, then this set is the perfect solution. Think of all the storage space you will save. And that, of course, just means more room available for even more DVD's!
FYI: I took a little poetic license with the title of this post. It says 1 DVD, but there are really 3 DVDs in the set.
