List of Stores Closed on Thanksgiving 2019
Black Friday is the unofficial name given to the day after Thanksgiving in the US. Traditionally this day has been known as the start of the Christmas shopping season.
Many stores have typically offered their best sales on this day to kick off the season. And usually in addition to great sale prices, they have opened very early to get a head start on the competition. They started opening at 5:00 or 6:00 AM, and then kept pushing it earlier - back to midnight, and then 8:00 or even 6:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day itself.
And that's when the backlash began!
Many major retailers have started to feel the heat from both customers and employees, and have decided that it may be better to allow their employees to spend the day with their families.
This is the list of stores that have announced that they will be closed for Thanksgiving this year.

Some retailers have not made any announcement yet, so this list will be updated until Thanksgiving with any more stores that confirm that they will be staying closed.
But for any of us that just can't wait to get a jump on our holiday shopping, most of these retailers have websites where you can shop to your heart's content. Best of all you can shop from the comfort of your own home, no long lines in cold weather, no unruly crowds. And even better - you can shop in your pajamas!
